Questions worth asking before you print.
How does a customer use this QR?
They open their phone camera, point at the QR, and tap the notification. WhatsApp opens with your number selected and your pre-filled message already typed — they just tap Send. Works on iOS Camera (iOS 11+) and Android Google Lens / native camera scanner. No app install required.
Will the QR keep working if I change my phone number?
No. The QR encodes the wa.me URL with the specific number you entered. If you change numbers, regenerate the QR and reprint. Tip: each campaign / location can have its own QR with a different pre-filled message — that way the first line of every incoming chat tells you which flyer / hoarding / poster brought the customer in. Manual, but works as a cheap source-tracking method.
What size should I print?
Minimum 2×2 cm (≈0.8 inch) for a phone-distance scan. For hoardings / signage at 3–5 metres scan distance, use at least 15 cm. The "Print (1024 px)" size handles A5 / A4 standalone layouts cleanly. The QR Code standard (ISO/IEC 18004) requires a quiet-zone margin of 4 modules around the symbol — the generator builds that in automatically.
My colors look great in preview — will the printed QR scan?
Maybe. QR scanners discriminate light from dark by contrast; below roughly a 4:1 contrast ratio (light foreground on light background, or both deep colors) cameras often fail. The generator shows an amber warning when the contrast you picked falls below 4:1. Even with a green warning, ALWAYS print a small test sample at the size and substrate you plan to mass-produce on — Trinetra does not warrant scan reliability across every printer, ink, or paper.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The phone number, message, colours, and resulting QR are all generated in your browser using a JavaScript library. Nothing is POSTed to a server, no email is captured. The only analytics signal is a single "QR generated" event with an empty payload (no phone, no message). See our Privacy Notice (footer) for the site-wide analytics disclosure under DPDP 2023.
Can I use the QR I generate commercially?
Yes. There is no Trinetra watermark on the output, and we do not inject any tracking parameter into the wa.me URL. You can print it on physical hoardings, business cards, packaging, brochures, anywhere. Fine print: the QR Code encoding scheme is published as ISO/IEC 18004 and the underlying patents (Denso Wave) were released royalty-free. "QR Code" is a registered trademark of Denso Wave — using it to describe what you generated is fine; selling a product called "QR Code™ Generator" is not.
